On the starting line of the Nascar track at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Yes that is a Cop behind me. We were getting ready for a photoshoot and I guess they wanted to make sure we weren't going to take a "Lap" around the track.

1973 OPEL GT This Opel GT has come a long way. I have owned this car for 15 years now. When I bought it it was burgandy with pearl white interior and a 1.9 liter engine that was no more than a gas saver. I had traded a 1977 trans am for it at a dealership. The trans am was kick ass (I'll post pics), only one day I got clocked at 135 in a 35 zone during lunch time rush hour and that same day I saw this Opel GT on a turn table in a dealership window. When I inquired about doing an even trade they said "are you sure"? This was a friday and that night I drove my new Opel GT from Jacksonville N.C. to Greensboro N.C. and as I pulled into my moms driveway my tranny gave out. This was the last time I drove it for 9 years. Why? I spent the next 8 years on Okinawa Japan. The whole time I was there all I thought about was how I was going to come home and fix my tranny and drive my car. "NOT"!! Boy was I in for a rude awakening!! The whole time I was on Okinawa my step father didn't even start my car 1 time, took it out of the garage, put my car cover on it (it blew off within the first week and was never put back on) left one window down about 2 inches and the car sat under a big ass maple tree. Needless to say the car was no longer burgandy (black), the interior was no longer white (black mold), the chrome on the wheels was now laying in the grass, and the car cover had grass growing up through it. By the way, the engine was froze solid and the rubber brake hoses had turned solid rubber. Oh yea, we couldn't even get the car on a car dolly due to the rotors and pads were fused together. I'll spare you the details. Did I mention I didn't speak to my parents for quite some time?
This is what my car looked like when I first got it. . .nearly flawless. No dents, no dings, two tone chrome rims...
This is what the paint looked like after I took some rubbing compound and wax to it. I could barely get it to shine. I got fed up with it and decided to do a custom job and do car shows and a little street racing. This of course was the beginning stages. Opel is a west german car and was imported for Buick. To keep it "Buick", I installed a 3.8 liter out of a Regal. After that motor cracked (winter time and no antifreeze), I used a Sunbird GT 3.8. I found there was no difference between the buick and pontiac 3.8 liter engines. This car drives like a go cart and very fun to drive.
